Copy edits immediately not available after editing

I edit a photo, go back to the grid view, long press and tap copy edits. It says it couldn't find any edits. When I go back to the photo the edits are blank. Preserve edits is switched on and use iCloud is switched off.

Yes, seeing that here too. It works ok if you set it to save to iCloud instead.

I would do that but it unfortunately hogs the majority of my I iCloud space when I do.

Indeed it does, it needs fixing for sure. My own workflow is such that I delete the sidecar files after I’ve finished an editing batch, so this hasn’t been such an issue for me.
