Pixelmator extension not working in Apple Photo when photo is HIF or HEIC

I tried to use the Sony HIF or HEIC format but Pixelmator Pro doesn't open the photo in Apple Photo and if I want to edit it I need to open it straight in the Pixelmator Pro app

Hope there is a fix for this issue.
