Fifty Percent Grey

What is the quickest way to fill fifty percent grey in an empty layer.

Like many things in Pixelmator Pro, there are a bunch of different ways to achieve this. I'd do the following.
1. Click on the empty layer in the layers panel.
2. Choose a tool that has a color component, such as paint or fill.
3. If you already have a 50% grey created, select it. If not, create it by clicking on the Color Picker and dragging the box in the color window halfway up the left-hand side (or enter 7F7F7F in the hex panel, or enter 127,127,127 as the RGB values).
4. Hit Cmd-delete to fill the layer with the foreground colour.
I realise that I may have inadvertantly started a debate as to what mid-grey actually is but I'm happy to just walk away from that one.
