1. How can you use the Smudge tool with a brush that is not round? Before Pro, you could chose a brush or shape and smudge with it. How to do that in Pro?
2. Is there a free selection tool that is not anchored so you don't have to navigate back to that little tiny dot? Or can you turn the anchor feature off?
Thanks to anyone who can help!

Hi there David!
1. I'm afraid it isn't possible to change the shape of the Smudge tool itself in Pixelmator Pro. However, there is a workaround - you can use the Paint tool to create a brush with a custom shape by using the Shape option in the Advanced Settings Section, and then increase the Smudge slider to 100%. At this value, your brush will not produce any color and simply act as a Smudge tool.
Edit: this workflow will not work with brushes in the Basic collection.
2. You can draw freehand selections with the Free Selection tool by simply clicking and dragging on your canvas. To instantly close your selection, hold down Command on your keyboard before releasing your click.

Thank you for posting the smudge brush tip! The lack of smudge brushes has been a wee bit stifling.
