Bracketing for HDR photos

What features would you like to see in Pixelmator Pro?

I am getting into real estate photography and it would be great to create HDR photos using bracketing. Please shake the product team until they prioritize this feature next. It stinks that I need to find/pay for another solution just to do HDR photos. On a positive note I am very happy with Pixelmator Pro otherwise.

Feature request noted! I can't promise much in the way of shaking, but we are aware of this feature. For now, there are a few other photography-oriented features that we're prioritizing but it's possible we'll add this at some point in the more long-term future.

I was looking for this function as well, but I guess I'm going to have to keep using Lightroom.

Here comes another vote for a HDR merging tool.

An HDR merge tool for exposure bracketed pictures would be very helpful. The concept of an easy to use HDR tool fits right into the overall Pixelmator ease of use value proposition. +1 vote

All the +1s noted — we hear you! As Andrius said, though, the feature is not in our immediate plans but it's on the list of nice-to-haves.

+1, I would use Pixelmator Pro a lot more if it had HDR merging (adding support to the iOS version would be a huge bonus too) 🙂

Quick update — support for bracketing of HDR photos is still not in our immediate plans, but we appreciate the feature requests. The timeline of Pixelmator updates is pretty much set for the foreseeable future but, hopefully, the features that we're working on will give at least some consolation to those waiting for this.

+1 ... million

As the OP stated, the bending of bracketed photos to create an HDR image is critical to anyone looking to engage in real estate photography. Not having this feature is the main draw back of this app relative to competitors and will be why I continue to use other programs instead of Pixelmator.

Adding a +1 to this list of folks!

Question about stacking multiple layers today, without support for auto HDR merge, does Pixelmator Pro support the ability to auto align layers? In the event a I want to combine multiple photos, but need to compensate for slight adjustments due to camera shake, etc?

There is no auto-align in Pixelmator Pro right now. I guess it would be most useful if stacking features were available? If there are any other workflows you use it for, it would be interesting to hear them.

It's mostly for stacking, but in a few different ways:

Panorama: Auto aligns the edges of each image, "straightening" each image using the overlap at the edges

Bracketed Photos: Auto aligning images for HDR merge type stacking, in case of any minor camera shake or slight movement between frames

Focus Stacking: Focus stacking (as you replied in the other thread, could be done manually), would also benefit from auto align for same reason above, in the event of some minor movement between frames

All 3 of these workflows would benefit from some auto alignment feature, even if there wasn't specific support for Pixelmator Photo to handle the stacking/merging, this would allow users to preform those tasks manually without also having to try and perfectly line up each frame.
