Hi!

I'm trying to apply a shadow on a corner radius shape where image is placed in (Clipping mask).
But the Clipping mask is not working well – the picture is kinda overflowing out then.

Anyone knows how to do it that there is no this overflow out of the clipping mask?

Thanks for help! Adam

I´d take a duplicated object to which I add the shadow exclusively:

by EllenM 2022-05-03 09:02:46 I´d take a duplicated object to which I add the shadow exclusively:
<p><img src="//support-cdn.pixelmator.com/uploads-new/cuf_1651575748_ShadowOnClippedImage.jpg" class="postimage is-shown is-visible" alt="Image" width="514" height="338.5"></p>

Thanks Ellen, that works!

But it's a workaround – for example when you change your mind and you would like to change corner radius at few boxes you need to do it even on duplicated elements. I am surprised that Pixelmator do not handle clipping mask function correctly.

Hi Adam! At the moment, clipping masks sample all bitmap information from a layer - including layer styles - so if you clip a photo to a shape that has a Shadow or Stroke style applied, the photo will be visible within the shadow or stroke. It may not be soon as this is not an easy fix, but we'll be addressing this behavior in the future. I'd also suggest using Ellen's workaround for the time being.
