I tried the new portrait mask to change the background and it didn't work? I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.
My sidebar looks different than in the video? I don't get all the different layers as shown in Pixelmator Pro?

Hey Marion, are you editing a photo taken in Portrait mode? If so, how are you importing the photo into Pixelmator Pro?

I took a picture of my son to create a silhouette, like a portrait but would it be considered portrait mode?

Portrait mode is a specific feature available on the latest iPhone models. There's a little more info about this feature here: https://support.apple.com/HT208118

If your photo isn't a Portrait mode photo, you can also try selecting the background using the Quick Selection tool and creating a mask from the selection. That usually works very well.

Thank you. I guess it wasn't created then in portrait. Thank you for your help!

i Have a similar problem.

My older photos taken in portrait mode work perfectly, but newer photos taken in portrait mode imports a blank mask. Is it due to iphone upgrade???

When you edit these same photos in the Photos app, are you able to see the following options below them:

If so, could you share an example image or two with us at support@pixelmator.com?
