Pixelmator 1.5.1 is now available
Thursday, 11 February 2010. Posted by Saulius.
Although we weren’t in a hurry to release Pixelmator 1.5.1, it was built in a comparatively short period of time (two weeks of development, plus one week for testing). Some of its features include:
- Brush Collections
- Fit Images and Crop Images Automator Actions
- Move to Applications dialog (thank you to the Potion Factory and Delicious Library for inspiring this feature)
- A tiny Dock menu
- The ability to change the background color of the work area
- Many more tiny improvements and important bug fixes
Pixelmator 1.5.1 is available for download immediately. It’s a highly recommended update for everyone; undeniably, its appeal is in the details.
Enjoy! The entire Pixelmator Team is getting to work on Pixelmator 1.6 Nucleus, and it is going very well.

La verdad que la colección de pinceles era necesaria, es un buen punto y el resto también suenan muy bien, a probarlos.

Yes, brush collections! Pasting clipboard content to the middle of the viewable area is also pretty great. Keep up the good work!

Brushes! Yeah! That’s a great way to go.
I also browsed through the bug fixes / updates list and it seems some nice touches have been added. Let’s hope the big three makes it to the nucleus (text tool, layer styles, layer folders). Keep up the good work. And if you add those things I’m gonna buy another license just for the sake of saying “thank you!”

Ah very, very, very good update!
And a great THANK YOU!
The brushes were getting a big problem for me on my MacBook. Now it’s clean and useful.
And I’m curious about the bugfixes. Hope some of major problems are solved now.
Danke für eure super Arbeit!!!

((is alt click on a brush supposed to delete it without the contextual menu appearing?))
Also, and I may be being particularly thick here, but the brush palette goes off screen and I can’t see an option to create folders? I read the help page and it suggested looking in a folder that doesn’t exist (h>lib>appsupport>Pix>brushes folder but that isn’t there). Any suggestions much appreciated.

Righto deleted enough brushes to see the bottom line. May be worth moving that icon up to the top? Or a dialog box somewhere so that people can move their brushes around without having to delete them all to access the icon?

Yay, gray background images! This makes it much easier when you have lots image windows open at once. The black background made it hard to see the borders of the different windows before.

Fast iterations, many updates. That’s good, keep up!
March 23rd, 2010 at 6:02 pm
good work!
however, the app is still very unstable in full screen mode, resulting in a crash. 2007 intel GMA white macbook 10.6.2.
I will try to catch that crash so it’s 100% reproductible
