What is the best way to stack layers. Let me try to explain.

- Working with a portrait
- Select the face and put it on a new layer to darken.
- Select a wrinkle to put on a new layer to soften.
Q 1: Would it be best to select from the original picture or the darkened layer?
- Select a wrinkle to be corrected and place on another layer but it overlaps another wrinkle.
Q 2: Is there a way to get the overlapping layers to display correctly? It seems whatever the front most layer would be what would be displayed and block the other layer.

Thoughts?

Hi there, without visual examples, it's a little difficult to visualize what's going on... Any chance you could share a sample image with an explanation of what you'd like your end result to be?

Let's say it is a photo of a face. The nose is overexposed so select the nose, copy the selection to a layer and adjust the color of the nose. But there is also a scar that starts of the face and continues into the nose. Selecting the scar from the base layer and the color adjustments would be lost. Selecting from the nose layer and the scar on the face would not be selected. Is that a clear enough description? Is there an easy way to handle this in Pixelmator Pro?

imagladry, you can copy adjustments from one layer to the other, so I believe this should work for your purpose. To copy adjustments, Control-click the layer with adjustments already applied and choose Color Adjustments > Copy Adjustments. Then, select the layer you copied from your original image and choose Color Adjustments > Paste Adjustments. Hope that helps!
