I can understand how to make it with Photoshop, but I don't like to use photoshop at all.

It would be much easier if we have kind of "Outer glow" style or effect - but I´d go about this route:
Start with a thin font - give it a very light tone fill and a small stroke colorful, to the inside with a tiny amount of Gaussian blur
make a duplicate and put it underneath - broader stroke with same color as fill and good amount of Gaussian blur
repeat step 2 two more times by adding more and more broader strokes with lighter colors and more Gaussian blur:

Ah ok - my bad. I believe we need Adjustment-layers to do what´s possible in PS for the Dual Lighting Effect.
