Navigate the Files browser

The Files browser shown below is what you see when you open Photomator and the Files browser is turned on. Here, you can search for a photo by its title, or browse for it where you store photos (for example, in iCloud Drive, on your device, on an external storage device, or a third-party storage provider). You can also sort photos and folders by name, date, size, kind, or tags to help you find the one you want.

View recently opened photos

Tap Recents in the sidebar on the left.

Browse and open photos and folders
  1. Tap an item in the Location, Favorites, or Tags to open that location or filter items by tags.

    If you don’t see the Browse sidebar, tap View or Back in the top left corner.

  2. To open a photo, location, folder, or filter items by tags, tap it.

Note: If a file or other item is not supported or cannot be opened in Photomator, it will be grayed out.

Change to icon, list, or column view

In the Photomator Files browser, you have the option to view your files as thumbnails, list, or columns which is helpful if you have photos nested in multiple folders.

At the top of the screen, tap one of the following:

to view photos and folders as a grid.

to view photos and folders as a list.

to view photos and folders as columns.

Find a specific photo or folder

Enter a filename, folder name, or document type in the search field at the top of the screen. For instance, if you're looking for edited RAW files, you can type PHOTO (the native file format of Photomator) into the search field.

View recently opened photos

Tap Recents at the bottom of the screen.

  1. Tap Browse at the bottom of the screen. This will open the Browse sidebar with available locations, favorites, and tags.

    If you don’t see the Browse sidebar, tap Browse again or Back in the top left corner.

  2. To open a photo, location, folder, or filter items by tags, tap it.

Note: If a file or other item is not supported or cannot be opened in Photomator, it will be grayed out.

Tip: In Portrait orientation, tap to see the above options.
