Pixelmator Photo is designed to give you all the tools you need to make your photos look their best. Pixelmator Photo includes a collection of desktop-class color adjustments for improving the lighting, contrast, and colors of a photo, a Repair tool for removing unwanted objects, a Crop tool for adjusting composition and perspective, a set of color adjustment presets designed for a range of photography styles, batch editing workflows, and more.
To make your day-to-day photo editing quicker and easier, Pixelmator Photo also offers machine learning-powered tools — ML Enhance for automatically improving image colors and contrast, ML Match Colors for matching colors of two or more images, ML Crop for giving you crop suggestions, ML Denoise for removing camera noise, and ML Super Resolution for scaling up images while keeping them sharp and detailed. You can learn more about Pixelmator Photo tools and features by tapping the links at the bottom of this page or by exploring the Table of Contents.
To start editing a photo, simply open it from your Photos library or any location that you can access using the Files app. To learn more about opening photos, see Open a photo.
Once you’ve opened a photo, you can start editing it right away. Pixelmator Photo is a nondestructive editor, so there’s no particular workflow you need to follow. You can first crop or straighten a photo, remove some unwanted objects, or apply a preset. By default, none of the changes you make with any tool will be merged and will always remain editable.
Note: Images with nondestructive edits typically tend to be larger than the ones edited destructively. If you're looking to save space on your device, or simply don't want to keep the images editable, you can switch to destructive editing instead. To find out more about changing workflows, see Editing workflows.
