Photomator has many great features but the one feature I would really find beneficial is the ability to be able to either rate or tag an image. In my workflow I usually Photo Mechanic Plus to cull and rate my images before applying any metadata to those images marked for post processing. The only issue with this is Photo Mechanic Plus is a desktop application. Often I will sit down with my iPad and a cup of coffee and browse through the many images I have yet to review and lament the ability to at least tag in Photomator those images that I would like to include in my post processing workflow. By tagging them in Photomator it would make it significantly easier to identify those images when I return to Photo Mechanic. I know I could import all the images into Apple Photos and tag them there but that doesn’t fit my workflow which is:
Ingest images from camera card to Photo Mechanic
1. Tag, Rate, Cull in Photo Mechanic
2. Add any metadata in Photo Mechanic
3. Post process using either Photomator or Pixlemator Pro launched from within Photo Mechanic Plus
4. Send processed image from Photomator or Pixelmator Pro to Apple Photos
5. Store Photomator or Pixelmator Pro edit file with original image file for future reference.

From the forums 1.. is coming with the next update.
I doubt for 2 or 3 they will rather build some functions within their own app rather than interface with another one
4. can already be done with the Share button or menu item. You can also Export/Import
5. Formats like RAW do not allow for that. Non-destructive editors usually rather use a sidecar file to store the edits.

Thanks Martin.
No 1 is my wish which I currently do in Photo Mechanic. The work flow I described is how I work now.
I would love to be able to do a rudimentary version of No. 1 in Photomator when using my iPad so when I go to Photo Mechanic I can filter on the tag (be it a check mark or star rating) to speed up the process a little.
No. 2 I don’t need that function in Photomator as I already do that in Photo Mechanic.
No. 3 I currently use Photo Mechanic to launch either Photomator or Pixelmator Pro from within Photo Mechanic. It is a feature of Photo Mechanic.
No. 4 yes I agree that is my current workflow.
No. 5 yes RAW files don’t store changes as that would be destructive. Non destructive editing creates a separate file such as a sidecar file or in the case of Pixelmator Pro a .pxd document file which contains the edits applied along with the link to the original image file. My current workflow is to save the sidecar file/.pdx document in the same location as my original image file which works for me so no new feature desired by me in Photomator or Pixelmator Pro.
