I purchased Photomator a few days ago and have been enjoying it's controls. I wanted to try an alternative to Lightroom and liked the way it worked. However I have noticed that images in Photomator have a lot of blurring?? Is this due to the Apple RAW engine? Is there any way around it? If not then it's un-useable.
Here's a RAW file straight from DXO PureRaw 4 side by side in LR (left) and Photomator (right). No adjustments, no sharpening, no distortion correction etc. As you can see, the Photomator one is really soft.
Hopefully it's a rookie mistake... Thanks
EDIT: I've discovered that both LR and DXO are applying sharpening to the RAWs during demosaicing. If I turn all that off it looks very similar. Adding a pinch of sharpening in Photomator fixes it. Phew!
