Anyway to re-edit text path after setting it the first time?

The only way I managed to do it was to initially place the path. Then add the path text. (Changing the path alone would not change the text.) But I could move the text aside, ⌘C or ⌘X the text to put the text on the clipboard - then modify the path as desired and replace the text (⌘V) on the newly shaped path. Not elegant, but it can be done.

Your method works for a path that is drawn by a pen, shape or line tool that do not cause the path to disappear if the text is deleted, whereas Path Type, Freeform Type or Circular Type do.
I discover it can be done by clicking inside the text box towards the end but it takes accuracy.
