Hi everyone. I'm new here.

I'm switching away from Photoshop because I only need an application like this one to do basic stuff, I was using Photoshop without a license, and I got a good deal on a license for Pixelmator Pro.

I mainly use a design application like Photoshop o Pixelmator to create icons for my applications (I'm a software developer), and I like to do an effect that's like cutting a shape inside another shape. On this example is "cutting" the text "BOSQUE" inside the white background to reveal the picture that's behind it.

On Photoshop I was doing this by placing the layer of the shape that I want to cut inside the background on top of the background, and configuring the shape on this way:

Can someone guide me on what to do to achieve the same effect with Pixelmator Pro? Thank you.

1. Select Text and go Format->Convert into Shape
2. Select Rectangle and converted text and go Format->Shape->Subtract Shapes -done

Would be much easier when Pixelmator Pro have "Erase" Blend mode (Not sure it has as I´m just on version 3.4.3 because of macOS) Image
