I have a selection that contains multiple separated bitmaps. I would like to really separate them, each onto their own layer, but I can't figure out how to break up the selection. Any suggestions would be very welcome. Example canvas with selection:

(obviously this is doable with individual polygon selections and cut and paste, but I have 60 of these files)

It might have been easier to attempt if you had not taken a screen shot with all the selection marching ants. Yes, sixty "of these kind of files" (!!) would be difficult/tedious.

I'm really loving ⌥⌘R after selecting the transparent and and inverting and adjusting the mask. Really pretty clean result; some anomalies but generally very clean. Tedious but easy to copy and paste items.
