I was just introduced to a new feature in the 3.3 update. After you open an image from the Photos Browser and edit it, you can now go to File>Modify Original in Photos and have the edits made in Pix Pro saved back to your Photos library.
No need to open Photos first and then use the Pixelmator Pro Photos Extension to perform edits and save.
Not a huge new feature, but definitely a nice convenience in my opinion.
