I am looking for a way to produce a font outline to get the effect skitch have for text.

I'm hoping for a font or text outline that you can see a sample in the linked file https://filer.jfsolvberg.no/Outline-Request.png

Is there a way to do this in Pixelmator Pro?

Apparently I answered on an ole item.

I thought we could do that - Nope. In this Pix Pro text image I had two stokes I hoped the second would round - Nope. A dedicated artistic text application handled it with a single stroke. ( I could have made it look more like yours I think, with a little more effort, and time wasting.) What app did you use?</quote>

Then I figured out how to do it in Pix Pro

Make your basic text in your choice of color and size - I use Helvetica font. Then convert to shapes. Then at the top of the new shapes. Added/corrected fill color and added an outside stroke - VOILA!

And I bet, with a little help from the team, this could be automated.

That looks promissing. I was hoping something like this would be a one click function, similar til font-outline. Or, perhaps the outline function could be enhansed to be able to change color of the font, the bit which becomes transparant and the outline, plus the thikness of the outline stroke. A font or function as such, would make the text stand out way more ond perhaps more tasteful on an image.

They do that in other apps, so why not Pixelmator.

It can by using the Style tools.

I tried to post an animated gif of the above text going through random stroke and text color changes. But the image tool refuses to accept it. but links included below. Sorry for the blurry gif.

EllenM had a solution, perhaps the same:

This solution doesn't work for me because I want something like this: Image

Any way to do this in Pixelmator? Seems like a pretty important feature.

Not with text object alone - otherwise easy to put rectangles behind text - no drama.
