Hey,

short version: how can I reduce the number of colors in an image?

long version: I have scanned a design and want to reproduce it (digitally). To do this, I want to process the scan so that when I print my copy again, the original design is printed in its original colors.
In the original print, only 5 different colors were printed. Therefore, I want to edit the scan so that there are really only 5 different colors in the image. Currently, for example, the scan of one color area has an entire color spectrum of red, even though it is only a shade of red in the actual print. Can I use pixelmator pro to reduce the number of colors so that I have the complete scan in 5 solid colors?

Many thanks already now for the answers and best regards

Yes - go Effects->Add Effect->Stylize->Posterize->Levels=5
