Best way to Remove Dirt from Background?

People who use Photoshop use Frequency Separation to achieve a clean background (i.e. remove shoe marks) from the background sweep.
Is there an efficient way to do this in Pixelmator Pro?

In this case I´d quick select (Q) the background - copy&paste to make the selection a new layer on top and add Gaussian blur to it:

it is better to scaling a few pixels when selecting the white areas, I hope it has this function like ps, otherwise Gaussian will leave a white edge on his trousers after blurring.

Nope - when the selection went into a new layer and "Preserve Transparency" is enabled as pointed out above.

No. The blur is on the background layer only as EllenM mentioned. Works perfectly.
