Artboards

Someone asked an interesting question in Pixelmator Pro Facebook group - are there "artboards" in PP?
Seems like there are none. As a workaround, this is what I'd do:
1) create a rectangle for each "artboard"
2) create a group above each rectangle, add all artwork there, mask the group within the rectangle below;
3) manually add slices for each rectangle, so that I could export them as separate images.

However, Photoshop has artboards, and Figma has frames. It is probably inevitable for Pixelmator to evolve in similar direction.

Neat workaround, thanks for sharing it here! And you're correct - Pixelmator Pro doesn't feature artboards. While this feature is not on our roadmap, we're keeping it in mind as a possible direction we could take sometime in the more distant future.

Searching for a quick tool to generate a simple white border for digital printing. Many print suppliers no longer include
white borders. Nothing fancy, just sufficient to be able to mount photos behind precut matts, when framing, without intruding
on photo subject.

I have looked to see if there was such a SHORTCUT available, but if there is, it has eluded me. Love to be able to batch a
group of photos, without fussing with layers individually.

Any updates on this? Tbh from a workflow pov it just makes sense. I hate moving from one app to another. I dont wnat to do anything in figma, other than prototyping but the lack of artboards on pixelmator forces me to do small things over there
