I personally really like the look! and I previously thought you needed a 3D program to pull it off! shadows can really make a design look more real life!
Was that 2.1 you were using??? I noticed the second time I watched it there was the quick fill tools in the top right hand corner!

Yeah, shadows are awesome! And well spotted, that is indeed Pixelmator Pro 2.1 – its release is just around the corner so it made sense to use it in this video.
