It's probably really simple but I';m looking to create the pattern in the linked video, but when I use the clipping mask it removes part of the border around the shape - is there any way to keep that border?
TIA.

Hah, no need to hang your head in shame, clipping masks are conceptually confusing, it honestly took me a few years to start intuitively understanding how they work. And when there's a little bit of confusion, the simple solutions become much easier to miss!
