Pixelated Text

I'm trying to add text but it's coming out highly pixelated. I've used Pixelmator for years and don't remember having this problem. It is worse for smaller type size like size 12. Very blocky. Don't know what is going on.

This is most likely happening because of the size of the image — if it's a small image (and therefore has few pixels), the text rendered in it will be pixelated. If you choose Image > Image Size and make the image bigger, there will be more pixels in the image for Pixelmator to render the text for you.
