I'm trying to import/insert a photo to work on but when I import/insert it, nothing happens.
I can't see it. I noticed when I insert an image they always
come incredible large and I have to size them down, but the photo I can't even see at all.

Is it possible you are inserting the image behind a layer? I can’t imagine what else it might be?

What's your workflow here, do you create an empty new image, then add photos to it? If so, how large is the image you're starting out with?
