Is there a way to disable this feature? It's actually creating work for me, since my original file names are much more descriptive than what Pixelmator comes up with. (Especially when every layer is named "Screenshot", because it is.)

Hey there, there’s a Terminal command for turning this off. Here it is:
defaults write com.pixelmatorteam.pixelmator.x enableSmartLayerNames -bool false
