Render without Merge

Maybe I'm missing it but is there a way to render Layer Effects, Color Adjustments and Paths other than creating a blank layer and merging it?

Pixelmator Pro focuses on non-destructive editing. For now such a function to apply effects hasn't been implemented yet. Indeed to merge layers is a work-around.

[Idea]

Sometimes it's desirable to render to pixels, just as it is with text or a path, for instance I may want to erase a bit of a drop-shadow. Sometimes the app just slows to a crawl when there's a lot of live math.

It should be added to the layer contextual menu.

Try pressing the Option key. It should switch Reset Adjustments button to Flatten Adjustments, if that's what you are looking for.
