I'm trying to use Pixelmator Pro as an external editor within LR for detailed editing of scratches, dust marks and other blemishes from scanned old photos. When I finish in Pixelmator I click "save" but the changes are not reflected in the LR original so I'm guessing that Pixelmator is not linking with LR.
(Previously I did this external editing in PhotoShop and when I saved in Ps, the editing was immediately reflected in the LR original)
Can you tell me how to link Pixelmator to LR?
I have OS High Sierra 10.13.1 and LightRoom 6.13

I have the same question, what's the correct way to get this set up so that everything syncs back and forth seamlessly.

No answer since December 15th?
Would be great to get a simple, honest answer...
I just tried using the PSD format from LR, and edited in Pixelmator (not Pro), then exported as PSD. It worked, but a little cumbersome.

Apologies for the delay! To get this working, try to deselect the Import JPEG, PNG, and TIFF images checkbox in the Preferences Window (Pixelmator Pro > Preferences...). Hope this helps :)
