This was reported some time ago. Yet after two updates, it is still broken. Stop with new features until old issues are resolved.

Tap, tap, tap ... is this thing working?! Hello PixelmatorPro?! Are you there? Why isn't this bug fixed yet?! It's been months! Is it a problem caused by Apple, so that's you can't fix it? But at least let us know what's going on! I'm having to use Preview to convert PNGs & TIFFs (exported from PPro) to HEIC. Very boring and a waste of time!
While you're at it, please make it possible to save HEIC as >8-bit, not just 8-bit as it is now.
Meanwhile, I've purchased Affinity Photo 2 and have started learning it, as an alternative to PPro. Hopefully PPro will continue to improve so I can stay with it instead of transitioning to AP2.

Upgrading to Sonoma 14.5 is the fix.
