Can Pixelmator Pro open Photoshop CS3 files?

I'm going to be handing down my M1 Mac to a relative who has an old Intel machine and used to use Photoshop CS3. That won't run on Apple Silicon, so I'll need to provide them a new app to deal with their old files.

Can I expect Pixelmator Pro to do a good job opening files saved in Photoshop CS3? Would Photomator be a better choice?

I use Pixelmator Pro myself, so it'd be easiest for me to support them on that going forward.

CS3 is pretty old, not sure if that would be a source of trouble.
