Settings Option for an Alternate Tone Curve Mechanic

I would like to be able to access a tone curve that does not auto-correct on an s-curve. I would like to be able to build my curves manually. This requires a picture that remains unchanged at all points except the point being adjusted, otherwise my reference point/control (the rest of the image against which I am making the adjustment) is constantly changing. This is useful in a lot of cases, but counterproductive in some. It is also counterproductive for some editing styles.
