Text background advice

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good weekend so far! I am using Pixelmator Pro and I am trying to design some text that is similar to what is shown in the image.

I can get the text part pretty close in terms of font, colours etc. What I am struggling with is that black outline around the text, that seems to follow the outline of the text itself. I can obviously do a black rectangle. Or I can add a shadow / outline etc. But I can't get it so it looks as good as this. Any ideas how I can recreate that?
