Yes, masking doesn't work with videos. However, I'd recommend trying the Selective Clarity feature without a mask. This tool affects textures in the highlights and midtones individually, which can yield impressive results when smoothing skin in videos even without the use of masks.

I had a small hope that a similar tracker to what was recently introduced to Final Cut Pro 10.6.6 would be implemented so we can mask out faces using ML with a few clicks. This is not the case.
