Brushstroke anomaly causing lines

When trying to use some of the default Pixelmator Pro brushes I'm getting a line in the paint stroke as per the image below. This particular problem occurs when I create a new canvas file with dimensions 426x600mm at 300dpi (A2 with 3mm bleed each side).

It seems similar to the issue raised in this thread: viewtopic.php?t=19680&hilit=brush+import+issue

However, this anomaly is occurring with some of Pixelmator's native brushes.

The issue sometimes manifests as dark lines (as opposed to the white line seen below) and at various scales. It really hampers painting functionality.

I'm running Pixelmator Pro 3.3.1 on 2019 MacBook Pro i9 2.4Gz with 32Gb RAM
