I am using the latest Pixelmator Pro (that I bought yesterday) on MacBook Air M1 (base) with Mac OS Ventura 13.0.1.

When I zoom in/out using the pinch (with two fingers) gesture, the trackpad is "clicking" (i.e., providing haptic feedback as when you press on it), even with a very light pressure on it. It seems So far, Pixelmator Pro is the only app (among the ones I use) doing this.

Just for comparison, Safari does not provide feedback when pinching in/out when I press hard on the trackpad.

I could not find references to this behaviour. It seems a feature related to the zoom factor, but since I am not able to display the current zoom factor I came here to ask.

Please provide a better documentation.
I have finally understood what the haptic feedback is for.
However, that is how I got it:

One sentence in the second result. If I visit that link, the current page does not even contain the sentence.

If I search the user manual there are zero references:

Noted, thanks for the feedback!

You can turn off haptic feedback altogether in macos trackpad settings. However, of course it would be great to have an option in Pixelmator preferences, just like how it is implemented in OmniGraffle, for example:
