I was looking at the neon tutorial but it does seem to be dependant on it being a shape rather than rasterized line art.

I think I'm close but the glow effect isn't as vivid as I would like. I know Pixlemator can do I just need a little direction.

Thanks.

Hi there Jose, could you share the image you're using as your base?

Maybe something like this?
Duplicate image layer
Select bottom layer and add effect False Color : paper=white and black=pink for instance - add some Gaussian blur and set the top layer to "Multiply" blend mode:

My main thought was that neon lighting seems better on a black background. I played around with converting to shapes; that was difficult.
It would be much easier with simple lines and layers - non rasterized.

Pretty easy to convert to vector - duplicate and blur for my rendition.

How did you convert to vector? Did you use a different program? Are you grouping each set of shapes and applying the neon tutorial to each?

Those pics look great! Love the color use.

Thanks.

I used your image as a "template" for both images. The top image is just your info converted to shapes - then I selected only the shape parts that I wanted and colorized them - mostly to each color on the same layer. Added a bit of a blur to a copy below these layers.

But the second image - I made shapes for every element. I used lines, circles or modified rectangles without fill color and colored the inside strokes as I desired. I tried to have similar items the same color but each is on its own layer. Then they were all grouped and duplicated and the lower version was blurred and duplicated three times to brighten the glow (blur) effect. I'm glad you like my choices. I enjoy looking at the problems people are trying to solve - to see if I can do it.

I think I understand.

For Image one you did a convert to shape. In Pixlemator? Just a select around the object and then "convert to shape"?

Image two is remade from scratch as vector.

Thanks.
