Bit of a sad day for me, I'm leaving the Mac market for Windows.
All of the software I use has Windows versions, except for one. You guessed it Pixelmator Pro.
I've been a Pixelmator and Pixelmator Pro user for a long time and looking for a good alternative in the Windows world. Not willing to pay the subscription fees of Corel or Adobe.
Any suggestions for a Windows (close second) replacement for Pixelmator Pro? So far Gimp is at the top of my list.

As you mentioned, GIMP is a free and open-source image editing software that is often compared to Adobe Photoshop. Krita is another free and open-source image editing software, Krita has a strong focus on digital painting and illustration. You may consider Serif Affinity Photo too. It's a paid alternative to Pixelmator Pro that is available for Windows. Btw, here you can find out where to buy a windows activation key and simplify the installing process. These are just a few options you might consider. It's always a good idea to try a few different programs to see which one works best for your needs.
