Pixelmator is simply amazing!

Every day my team paints line drawings. Usually we’re painting detailed line drawings of outdoor scenery or the human figure. We find it easy to paint within the lines and easy to make corrections. However our task is made more difficult and time consuming when we have to lift the brush and then resume painting inside the same area. As you know, when painting resumes the paint overlaps and damages the paint which was initially applied to that area.

Generally it’s not possible to paint an area with a single continuous brushstroke. So there ought to be a way to tell the brush that overlay or overlap of the selected paint color is not desired. That way we could paint without the interruption and distortions caused by paint overlap. We need a way to turn off paint overlap.

An ON/OFF OVERLAP or OVERLAY button up by PAINTBRUSH and ERASE in the paint working menu would be great. Or you could simply program Pixelmator to never overlap the paint.

Eliminating overlap would achieve a more realistic use of Pixelmator paint, allow a more natural way of painting, and it sure would make our jobs easier.
