Photoshop has a built-in filter called “Stylize: Find Edges” for finding significant areas of color transition and outlining them with dark lines against a white background. You can see an example of this here: it is especially useful with posterizing to get a “stenciled” version of a photograph. I’m wondering if there’s any similar way to do this in Pixelmator Pro.

Absolutely possible:
1. Load image and go Effects->Posterize and adjust amount of colors
2. go Color Selection and hit for Select Color Range…, choose a color and hit Apply
3. go Format->Convert into Shape
4. proceed with the next color range etc.:

Thanks for the reply! This method unfortunately requires manually selecting each posterized color and converting it into a shape, which is tedious if there are dozens of posterized colors in the image (compared to Photoshop’s simpler filter). However, it’s good to know that it is still possible. Thank you!

Understood - but this version is vector and scalable.
I guess it´s part of the Effects-> Comics - but unfortunately it´s not adjustable but the "find edges" is included here and already mentioned in the "Feature request" forum - you might chime in there.
