Hey urmelchen. Thanks for the suggestion! We'll have to take a look at this. The support may come by default if macOS supports that particular HDR display.

On Lenovo CreatorXtreme it doesn't.
HDR Display for video works nicely.

Understood, thanks for the info — I'll pass it on to the team. Perhaps it's something on our end after all.

Do you have a RAW file open in Pixelmator Pro when trying to enable the EDR Mode? If you do, but EDR is still grayed out after adding via the Customize menu — it’s not supported by macOS. It might be a good idea to get in touch with Lenovo support about this. Some additional steps may be needed to set up the monitor specifically for macOS.

I've tried it with Canon cr3 and iPhone 12 dng files. I can enable EDR Gadget, but nothing happens. I don't get these extra brightness from HDR. Also I've tried another HDR Monitor from Dell. Same problem. So it's not a Lenovo problem

Typically, nothing much will change just by enabling the EDR Mode. Pixelmator Pro will start taking advantage of the extended dynamic range as you edit the photo. For instance, if you try setting the Exposure of your image to 400% (hold down the Option key to extend the value range), you should see all the extra brightness. You can also change the Pixelmator Pro window background color to white (the standard maximum brightness) for comparison.
