I understand that there is no concept of adjustment layers (very unfortunate) and that adjustments are applied directly to the layer itself. If I've added a series of adjustments top a layer, how do I copy them to another layer?

The easiest way is probably using a preset:
1) Select the layer to which you've applied the adjustments
2) Scroll down to the bottom of the Presets bar
3) Click the + button
4) Select another layer and click the preset you created

Good to hear about adjustment layers coming. I'll try to struggle through with this workaround until then...cheers
