I see that this is getting a lot of votes. Any word from the dev team on if/when this feature will be added?
I've almost abandoned Photoshop at this point and would love to be able to abandon Inkscape as well. But that can't happen until SVG is supported.
Keep up the great work. I hope to see SVG in a future version as it will make developers even more excited about the capabilities of Pixelmator/Vectormator.
As a web developer, I'm really waiting for this feature. It will help to create more awesome websites with fully scalable graphics/images.
SVG and EPS
All that being said; Thanks for the great work guys. Pixelmator is great!
I've tried Pixelmator for vector only graphics: just Pen and Shapes with 2 solid colors (black and white). Well, Pixelmator as an editor is really cool. But! With really lot objects Pixelmator becomes soooo slooooow and the file becomes soooo huuuuuuge! For example the same drawing in 'pxm' vs 'SVG': 36Mb vs 374Kb!!! 100 times!!!
Once more: just Pen and Shapes with 2 solid colors, here it is for reference
And to those who say SVG can't contain raster data: it CAN. Use '<image>' tag.
