Hello, I have pixelmator photo (latest version) and iOS 14.4.2 but when I open pixelmator, I have only acces to the iOS photo library.
There is no way I can acces the iOS files browser.

What is wrong or can someone help me out here?

Hi. Could you check if you can see a gear icon in the top-right of the screen? Tapping it and choosing Show Files should bring you right to the Files browser.

No problem! This browser switching is more on the covert side, so I can definitely see how it can be fairly easily overlooked, especially if you're just getting started with Pixelmator Photo.

Hi, I'm happy I found the answer here.

but you'd better update your help doc. In your help doc, it still said: "in the More menu ..." instead of "gear icon" which lead me to search where is the more menu about half an hour. :(

There is NO gear icon on my interface, what gives? I’m trying to open from Photos but it’s set to Files, and there’s no gear icon. I tried all other buttons, there’s nothing anywhere.

Update: I had to uninstall and reinstall for the gear to appear. But now I can’t find how to switch my editing interface back to left handed. 🙄

It's a Files browser related issue. Usually, changing the iPad orientation from horizontal to vertical and back to horizontal again helps bring the icon back. As for moving the Color Adjustments pane to the left — you can simply drag it there. Touch anywhere on the left edge of the pane and slide it to the left.

Hopefully the Files issue is solved with iPadOS 15? I tried changing the orientation and it didn’t work with 14.7 (I didn’t upgrade to 14.8 ).

Dragging worked, thank you. I searched for a way to do this in the help/documentation page, I couldn’t find it, if it’s not there it would be a great idea to add it.

Thanks again!

We're hoping so. Apple has confirmed a fix and as far as I've tested, I wasn't able to repro this on iPadOS 15.

I don't think there is. Good point!
