Hello,
Forgive me if I’ve missed something (had a quick look in the user manual and a search on forums).

When editing images in PixelMator Photo (PMP), I can do a lot of work which is great. But often I’ll need to send the image to Affinity Photo to do some extra stuff. But it looks like when I choose to share an image in PMP, and send it to affinity, it’ll send a jpeg.

My actions are normally done when in the PMP edit mode, I’ll tab the 3 dots in the top right corner, pick Share and select AP. It shows a preview of a 25MB jpg (ironically it saves larger from AP).

From my understanding, sending a TIFF would be higher quality file to work with? Is there anyway of doing this please?

Many thanks

Is this image a RAW file, originally?

Yep.
I think I’ve worked it out now. Having to export rather than share.

Ah, cool! Yep, using JPEG when sharing is the default iOS/iPadOS behavior at the moment so exporting is, indeed, the best way to share images as TIFFs.
