Hey Andrius that was a great tutorial, to the point, but full of tips, and you've also got a good voice for tutorials πŸ˜„! That inner-glow effect was really cool, and I'll sure add it to my tool belt. Is that the way Pixelmator Pro's outer glow works? (obviously the mask is inverted)

The final effect looks great, now Apple will be asking for you to make their next event visual!

Hah, I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say I've got the voice for it, but thanks you so much! I was a little terrified to put this one out there, I won't lie. But it was such a long and complex tutorial, I couldn't bring myself to put our VO guy through it, so I thought I might as well try it myself.

Yes, right now, I'd say masked blurred layers are the best way to create both inner and outer glows. Although I'll be honest, we do know that we need to make this easier to do. The trouble is that our current layer style implementation needs layers to have fills or strokes for shadows (and inner shadows) to be rendered. And glows are, more or less, colored shadows, so we'd first need to address the fill situation before moving on to this. It's on our roadmap but it's a big undertaking, so it won't be a quick and simple addition when we start working on it.

Anyway, we still really wanted to showcase these techniques, even if they're a little complex, and I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed the tutorial!

Cheers Alan, all the plaudits go to our designers for figuring out how to recreate the visual. :raised_hands:

I've got to admit, I'd lie if I said I didn't dropped my jaw at least 6-7 times. Huge thanks for the quality tutorial, I am not able to tell - and I think I can represent each of us - how grateful I am, just sending infinite applauseπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
