If parent group blend mode is "Pass through", and child layer blend mode is not (e.g. Screen) - changing parent group opacity to anything else but 100% causes child layer to appear as if its blend mode is "Normal".
Child layer blend mode seems to switch to Normal when parent group opacity is not 100%

Just thought that, maybe, it's parent group that changes its blend mode from "pass through" to "normal", and the child layer is not affected.
