EPS support is a tricky one, but it's already on the feature request list, so we have been thinking about it.

What I liked the most is the svg color fonts 😎

It's nearly March 2020 and I'm on the forum looking for details of eps support (not Photoshop). Is there any more news about it appearing?

Seeing as Pixelmator Pro is primarily a raster-based editor, our focus generally tends to be more on raster-based features. We did add SVG support, which was a big step forward in terms of an improved vector editing experience, but EPS would require quite a lot of development time and, naturally, isn't a big priority when planning updates in light of our overall vision for the app. Especially when there are some very important improvements that we need to make to the vector tools themselves (meaning that would need to be done first).
