Hey! I have a difficulty with shapes. Maybe someone can help me?

1) I create a new document and draw an object with the Rectangle Shape tool.
2) Select the Arrange tool and click on the Background layer.
3) The shape becomes invisible. It becomes visible only if I select it in the Layers panel.

It seems to me that in the Pixelmator Classic the shapes were not hidden like that.
How to make the shapes always visible in the Pixelmator Pro?

I´m not able to recreate this behavior: https://postimg.cc/YGSKh4Sm
Just drawn with "no Stroke&Fill" attached and deselected it´s vanishing from the page - not the Layers.
Can you make a screenshot of the Pixelmator Pro window (cmd+shift+5->Selected Window)?

Even with "no Stroke&Fill" attached it should be displayed as an outlined object.

I forgot to write that I don't use fill and stroke. But even without these options in Pixelmator Classic, the border of the object were visible, but in Pixelmator Pro it disappear.

I recorded the screen. Please take a look. https://ibb.co/Y30398s

As I described: exact same here. Mine was by default "gray" but the tool maintains "last used Style".
So what´s your purpose of using non stroke&fill for a shape? Just asking.

I just double-checked this to make sure and, in Pixelmator Classic, the behavior is identical to Pixelmator Pro. If you have a shape that is just a path with no style, the (grey) outline is only visible when that shape is selected. Except in the original Pixelmator, I think the outline was turned off by default so maybe you just always used a stroke style and never noticed this. :man_shrugging:

EllenM and Andrius thank you so much for your help.
I really confused something. I should have turned on the stroke. I apologize for my stupid question.

It's OK, thinking about it, it's totally normal that you thought this because in Pixelmator Classic the vector outline was very faint and most people probably didn't use it, so it seemed like in Pixelmator Pro, the colored, thicker outline was a stroke layer style. For people coming from other apps, they're probably more used to the more standard, colored vector outline, but for Pixelmator Classic users, it makes sense that it threw you off a little.

Glad to hear you're all good now, though!

@Andrius. The outline color is driven by macOS Accent color adjusted in macOS= Preferences->General->Appearance->Accent color

Yep! Did I get this wrong somewhere? Because I'm not sure what exactly your comment is in reference to... :grimacing: Unless it's just a fun fact, in which case, it certainly is a fun fact! :raised_hands:

Not wrong just different; The "grey" is green here. :grinning:
So I thought the information might be useful.

Ohhhhh, I was talking about Pixelmator Classic in that particular instance – the outline is always grey there and is a little thinner, so it's much less visible overall.
