Is there an easy way to place guides on a design? For instance, if I want guides at .25 inches from all four sides. How can I do that?

Hi! You'd typically add guides from the View menu: View > Guides > Add Guide and specify where you want your guides in the Add Guide menu. A quicker way to access this menu is by double-clicking one of the rulers. You can press Command + R on your keyboard to activate the rulers.

But I believe your question is more about how you can use guides to frame canvas quicker. While adding left and top guides is easy (you just punch in the position you want), there isn't really a feature that would calculate the opposite guide placement for you automatically, I'm afraid. You'd have to subtract the desired position of the guide from the total width or height of the image manually. The result you get by doing so will be the guide position you need.

We really could benefit from "calculator"-entry fields like many apps offer today: simply type in 8,5-0,25" and you will get a guide at 8,25" automatically. Very convenient.

@newbie user guy
Your request could fall under "margins" or "bleed". Both not available afaik.

Where? I can’t find anything that will calculate them for you.

I was asking about margins or bleed. Since you mentioned them I was curious if they were calculated for you.

Can´t find it with "Search" so far.
My next question would be for what purpose the inner guides of 0,25" are for?

There isn't any particular logic behind it, we just haven't added it yet. :man_shrugging: However, to my knowledge, this is being worked on at the moment – it's certainly on our roadmap and I've seen some changes that lay the foundations for it. :ok_hand:
